Debian and Aspeed/AST
Is this a server? We open a window or click a menu and we can see each line of the display being drawn very slowly. If so, I wouldn’t worry about it running in low graphics mode. This seems to fix the slow graphics issue on the desktop, but does not help with the slow rendering on the login screen.

From what we asspeed tell, the “ast” video driver is being used. No upgrade log present probably fresh install dmi. As well as several versions of Ubuntu.

This helps, but doesn’t asperd solve the slow video rendering and tearing. OK, this is not good: Launchpad Janitor janitor wrote on Status changed to ‘Confirmed’ because the bug affects multiple users.
